Participating in sports is for enrichment purposes only. No official academic credit will be awarded for participation in athletics.

 

Cross Country

Grades: 6-12

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 7th to July 9th, 2021 (4:00pm to 5:30pm daily)

All students participating in this course will be learning about the fundamentals of distance running. Other than running, participants will also be doing routines such as strength, flexibility, and stretches that will have huge benefits to running faster and being overall fitter. This is a program for students of all levels, as they will be running from 10 to 45 miles per week. Students that are looking to participate cross country during the school year are highly recommended to participate in this program, as it has been proven that members who are used to the training by summer will perform a lot better during competitions in the fall and so on. This course will also benefit members by getting to know all team members better, which has been a foundation to success in this program.

 

Dance

Grades: 8-12

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 9th, 2021 (2:00pm to 5:00pm daily)

The course will cater to beginning-advanced levels and give students the opportunity to improve their technique, composition, and performance. Course content consists of: dance technique, choreography, improvisation, style, collaboration, and performance. The dance styles we will focus on are: ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and musical theater. This course's objective is to provide students with the knowledge, application, and appreciation of dance and movement. The course will end with a final dance performance. This course is enrichment only. Dance is the perfect way to brighten any student’s summer break! This course is for enrichment only and awards no high school credit.

 

Football for Freshmen: Strength and Conditioning and Practice

Grades: 9

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 8th, 2021

Strength and Conditioning: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Practice: Monday through Thursday from 3:45pm to 5:45pm

Students enrolled in this section are required to attend both the Strength and Conditioning and Practice sessions.

 

Football for Returning Players: Strength and Conditioning and Practice

Grades: 10-12

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 8th, 2021

Strength and Conditioning: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Practice: Monday through Thursday from 3:45pm to 5:45pm

*Friday Practices: TBD based on possible 7 on 7 tournaments

**Saturday Tournaments: TBD

**Saturday Tournaments: June 19th (Arroyo HS), June 26th (Covina HS) 7:30am to the conclusion of the tournament.  

Students enrolled in this section are required to attend both the Strength and Conditioning and Practice sessions.

 

SMHS JV/Varsity/Cheer

Grades: 9-12

Fall Semester: June 1st to June 18h, 2021 

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:45pm

Summer Camp for 2021-2022 San Marino High School Cheer students only.  Conditioning, stunting and learning cheers will be conducted during camp.

 

Girls Soccer

Grades: 8-12

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 9th, 2021

Practice: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30pm-4:00pm

Looking to learn the game of soccer, or improve your soccer skills? Long time San Marino High School soccer coaches Jaime Acuna and Ron Parra are excited to bring the game of soccer to you for a fun 6 weeks over the summer. Using the inside, outside, and sole of the foot, you will learn how to trap, pass, and shoot the ball using a variety of fun drills and games.

This course will meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30-4pm on the main field at San Marino HS. A ball, shin guards, and water will be needed for this course.

Please know this course is for enrichment only. No P.E. credits will be given for enrollment. This course is for players of all levels in 8th - 12th grade.

 

Rising 8th Graders: Strength and Conditioning

Grades: 8 

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 9th, 2021

Tuesday through Thursday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Students enrolled in this section will participate in a comprehensive 5 week strength and conditioning program intended to teach the fundamentals and techniques involved in strength training. The program will offer students a foundation for success as they prepare themselves for high school athletics in the upcoming years.   

Location:  SMHS Football Field

**Incoming Freshmen & Rising 8th Graders will participate in this section. 

 

Tennis

Grades: 6-12

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 9th, 2021

Monday through Thursday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Class will be for Intermediate through Advanced Level, please No Beginners. If you can Serve 8 consecutive serves, keep score and keep a rally of 10 consecutive hits over the net you are considered an Intermediate level player. Advanced level players will be separated into different groups. They work on match play, drills preparing them for matchplay, working on accuracy and strategy. Footwork is emphasized with utmost importance. In addition will be working on doubles play and volleys.

 

Water Polo

Grades: 6-12

Fall and Spring Semesters: June 1st to July 9th, 2021

Monday through Thursday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Student-Athletes enrolled in this class will have the opportunity to learn, exercise and develop their water polo skills.  The class is directed by certified USA Water Polo Coach Robert Zirovich and his staff.  Returning athletes will have fun mastering shooting, passing, & wrestling skills while developing their strategic quick thinking skills.  Novice participants will learn the fundamentals and rules of the game.  All participants must be able to swim.  Competitive club swimmers and water polo players are encouraged to attend.
